Mobile Detailing, Los Angeles

The shop drives to you

SoCal Car Detail is a mobile detailing and pressure washing operation working out of Hawthorne, California, across fifteen cities in Los Angeles and the South Bay. The van shows up at a driveway, an office parking lot, a boat slip, or an RV storage yard, and the work happens there.

What it is

Mobile detailing has a trust problem. The customer is handing a stranger a set of keys and a two hundred dollar bill on the strength of an Instagram grid, and most operators in the category price by text message, which means the quote depends on who is asking. This site takes the opposite position: every package and every price is published on the page, broken out by vehicle class, before anyone picks up the phone.

That decision drives the architecture. Sedans, SUVs and trucks, RVs and trailers, and boats each get their own service page with their own tiers, because a per-vehicle price makes no sense for a forty foot motorhome and a per-foot price makes no sense for a Civic. A separate pricing page carries the full matrix with a calculator that estimates a job from vehicle type and package.

The second half of the business is pressure washing, which shares the equipment and the truck but not the customer. It sits in its own section rather than being folded into detailing, so a homeowner searching for driveway cleaning does not land on a page about ceramic coating.

The service index

Fourteen service pages, each with its own published pricing. Prices below are the ranges the site puts in front of the customer.

Where the van goes

Fifteen cities, each with a dedicated page written for that area instead of one service page repeated with the city name swapped in.

Under the hood

The booking form is the front end of a small operations system, not a mailto link.

A request submitted through the booking page is validated server-side, written to a database, and turned into a formatted email in Pacific time. If requests are already sitting unanswered, that email leads with a count of them, because the failure mode for a one-person mobile business is not a missing lead, it is a lead that went cold on a Tuesday.

Behind a login sits a small admin dashboard for working those requests: reviewing and updating bookings, merging duplicate customer records created when the same person books twice with two phone number formats, and removing vehicles that were entered wrong.

VIN lookup, built in

Type a seventeen character VIN into the admin panel and it validates the format, then decodes the vehicle against the federal NHTSA database and fills in the record automatically. Roughly twenty specifications come back, which is how a boat and RV operation avoids guessing at what it is actually about to work on.
